Hello!
This is a personal post from me, Soula, the founder of My Health Story.
I just had to share this incredible news with you directly because it’s truly remarkable not only for me but also for everyone who has contributed to and collaborated with me on creating My Health Story (MHS).
After years of building MHS, the online system and app have been selected for Melbourne Design Week, Australia’s biggest design event.
And while alone that is something to celebrate, what truly excites me is the theme of this year’s event:
Design the World You Want.
That’s what I’ve been trying to do since my 4.5-year misdiagnosis left me with (what is looking to be) a lifelong chronic illness.
Are your ears ringing right now? No, not because an old wives’ tale suggests someone is talking about you, but because, like me, you have sensory issues, among other symptoms of neuropathic pain as a result of misdiagnosis – I have Notre Dame in my ears right now!!
And all this could have been avoidable for me had I received more effective care.
So the world I want to design includes a better way for individuals and their care teams to communicate, which is key to higher-quality care.
My new world helps transform a current ‘sick’ system into a healthy one – as it should be!
How do I see this happening? Come and see! Or tune in to the live Q&A event via Zoom – it’s just $10.
All the event info can be viewed below or on the official Melbourne Design Week program.

Q&A – Healthtech Powered by Lived Experience.
DATE & TIME: May 19, 5:30 pm for a 6 pm start – 7:30 pm.
LOCATION: MelbourneConnect, The Studio (700 Swanston St, Carlton VIC 3053)
Together with my lived experience and my partner Theo’s carer perspective, Gabriel Edwards, a trained counsellor and Managing Director of Engaging People Pty Ltd, will lead a live Q&A – Healthtech Powered by Lived Experience.
Melbourne Design Week is an initiative of the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and has grown since 2017 to become Australia’s premier design event, supported by the National Gallery of Victoria and the design community, which deliver events as part of the festival.
The event held on May 19 at Melbourne Connect, The Studio, is a chance to explore how patient-first thinking can drive real change and bring the conversation into a national design and health forum.
I’d really appreciate your support.
There are two types of $10 tickets that will help me cover the costs of running the event:
- In-person tickets if you would like to attend (70 max people)
- Unlimited tickets to watch the Zoom Live Q&A.
Any funds raised go directly to producing the event, and anything extra goes back into developing My Health Story.
I’m also happy to offer a 2-year subscription to MHS Premium for the $49 annual price if anyone would like to start using it. Sign up and then email me so I can extend your subscription.
Thank you to our Partners
