The New Happy logoThere are many motivational accounts on social media, but one of My Health Story’s (MHS) faves is The New Happy.

And that’s because of its brightness and colourful and uplifting graphics and messages. And it’s free.

The New Happy also provides small bite-size doses, which are more manageable for people with chronic illnesses who might experience brain fog and other symptoms that make absorbing information tricky.

In addition to limiting the communications received on a day-to-day basis (actually, it’s more like minute-to-minute), making positive choices can make a difference in your day. Scrolling and deleting dull media is negative!

So, our founder put The New Happy to her test; by signing up to receive the newsletters and following The New Happy on socials, Soula found their media truly uplifting and motivating over the past month.

The choice to view the graphic, and/or read the short text and/or listen to the podcast (which is usually just a few minutes), is an additional consideration for what you may be feeling up to on the day.

Here’s a glimpse of what The New Happy delivers to your inbox:

The New Happy
In a given day, we will experience a vast range of emotions.

One 2015 study looked at the experience of daily emotions and found the top frequently experienced emotions were: 1) joy, 2) love, 3) anxiety, 4) satisfaction, and 5) alertness. Close behind were hope, sadness and amusement. Saturdays are the days where we feel the most happy emotions.

The study also found that you can experience both positive and negative emotions at the same time. Anxiety and love co-occurred the most together.

It’s so easy to identify ourselves or our life with our emotions. The more we practice noticing their rise and fall, the better we can see that they’re more like the weather than anything else: ever-changing, blending together, and impermanent.
